Where the Sunset Strip still sounds like a guitar riff
Reserve this StayHotel Ziggy Los Angeles
Hotel Ziggy Los Angeles sits just off the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, occupying a midcentury property reimagined with the spirit of the musicians, misfits, and dreamers who have long defined this stretch of Los Angeles. The aesthetic is deliberate and unpolished in the best sense: exposed brick, vintage furniture, vinyl collections, and a palette that leans into warm earth tones and rock-and-roll nostalgia without tipping into costume. It is a hotel that wears its references lightly, built for guests who appreciate a sense of history and personality in their surroundings rather than the anonymity of conventional luxury.
The property's 108 rooms and suites range from cozy quarters to more expansive layouts, many featuring record players, curated vinyl, and design details that nod to the neighborhood's musical heritage. Some rooms open onto private patios, and select suites offer soaking tubs and views that stretch across the city. The look throughout is layered and lived-in, mixing custom artwork with retro textures and a warmth that makes each room feel less like a hotel and more like a borrowed apartment belonging to someone with exceptional taste.
At the heart of Hotel Ziggy is its heated courtyard pool, a sun-drenched gathering point ringed by murals and string lights where the mood shifts from quiet morning laps to something more social as the afternoon unfolds. The on-site restaurant, Pizza Girl, is pizza done right - served with crave-worthy salads, cold drinks, and a playlist that hits just right. The Lobby bar carries the same easy, expressive energy as the rest of the property, serving California-influenced cocktails in a setting that feels casual but considered. Liive music programming keeps the connection to the Strip's legacy feeling present rather than purely decorative.
West Hollywood places you within walking distance of the Sunset Strip's iconic venues, from the Comedy Store to the Roxy, with the design shops and restaurants of Melrose and the broader cultural gravity of Los Angeles just beyond. The neighborhood rewards exploration on foot, and the hotel's location threads the needle between the energy of the boulevard and a quieter residential calm just one block removed.
What Hotel Ziggy gets right is tone. It is playful without being ironic, nostalgic without being stuck, and social without demanding your participation. You leave with the feeling of having stayed somewhere with a genuine point of view, a place that understands the difference between referencing a culture and actually belonging to it.

What we love about this stay
Hotel Ziggy is the Sunset Strip stay that actually feels like the Sunset Strip, not a sanitized version of it. The location is unbeatable for a night out. The Roxy and Whisky are a stumble away. Grab a slice at the famed Pizza Girl serving classic, craveable pizza with a fresh, no-compromise twist. Skip the hotel gym in favor of an early evening walk east on Sunset when the light goes soft and the boulevard starts to hum or take a dip in the courtyard pool. That fifteen-minute window before the neon takes over is the best version of this neighborhood.

Amazing vibe and awesome pool. Rooms were excellent and food was fantastic. Live music venue in the hotel was the cherry on top.

Overall the property is really cool. Just be mindful that they DO NOT clean the rooms you have to schedule cleanings 24 hours prior each and everyday. I had to clean my own room and take the trash out each day. The overall atmosphere I give 5 stars!
