There is a particular kind of beauty in a hotel that feels found rather than built. The Bygone Hotel carries this quality in its bones, a property where vintage character and considered design converge into something that feels deeply personal. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere speaks of intention: spaces layered with texture and warmth, where reclaimed details and curated furnishings suggest a place that has accumulated its identity over time rather than arriving at it all at once.
The accommodations at The Bygone Hotel are individually styled, each room carrying its own personality while sharing a common thread of warmth and understated elegance. Expect rich materials, thoughtful lighting, and a sense of intimacy that larger properties rarely achieve. The interiors lean into a collected aesthetic, where vintage pieces sit comfortably alongside modern comforts. Beds are dressed for deep sleep, bathrooms feel generous without excess, and the details reward closer inspection. It is the kind of place where the room itself becomes part of the experience rather than simply a backdrop for it.
Common spaces invite lingering. The hotel's public areas feel less like lobbies and more like living rooms, designed for slow mornings and unhurried conversation. Whether you settle into a reading corner or gather around one of the property's communal spaces, there is an ease to how the hours pass here. The Bygone Hotel understands that the rhythm of a great stay is not measured in activities but in the quality of stillness between them.
What stays with you is the feeling of a hotel that resists sameness. The Bygone does not chase trends or perform luxury for its own sake. Instead, it offers something rarer: a sense of place that feels both timeless and deeply specific, as though the property itself remembers something beautiful and has invited you to share in it. You leave not with a list of amenities consumed but with the quieter impression of having been somewhere that genuinely cared about the details.

What we love about this stay
There's something about a converted barn in a quiet Welsh village that resets you in ways grander places can't. Yr Hen Ysgubor sits in Bottwnog on the Llŷn Peninsula, and its appeal is rooted in honest simplicity — a garden that feels genuinely lived-in rather than staged, the kind of place where you step outside and just stand still for a moment. It has the bones of a proper retreat without performing the role: a fireplace for evenings that turn cool, a kitchen that invites you to cook rather than eat out. The peninsula's coastline and landmarks like Criccieth Castle are close enough to explore, but the real draw is the unhurried stillness of the property itself. It suits the kind of traveler who doesn't need much — just the right atmosphere and enough quiet to hear themselves think.

Seafood tower was amazing. Filet was cooked to perfection. Poached pear dessert was surprisingly delicious. Wonderful staff made the evening more enjoyable.

Spent a beautiful Friday evening with some friends at this delightful restaurant. We didn't have any reservation as we decided to go there at the spur of the moment. The staffs were very nice and offered us a beautiful chamber with spacious couches and a gorgeous view of the city. One of our friends was not according to the dress code, so he was offered a clean blazer( true to his size!!) Our waitress Niah was jovial and very helpful. Breathtaking views, amazing drinks( definitely most delicious cocktails), and wonderful ambiance. Will definitely come back soon.

The view was amazing if you got the seats on the right side. They had two sides - the bar area and the sitting area. The service was really good as the staff would come and introduce the wine. The alcohol was in general of very good quality. However, the food was just so-so. We ordered a pork belly and an octopus - both of them were disappointing as they were overcooked and probably a wrong choice of cut.

Bygone is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Baltimore, and our visit lived up to its stellar reputation. Located on the top floor of the Four Seasons, the restaurant offers stunning, immaculate views of the city, especially at night. It's the perfect setting for a celebration, whether it's an anniversary, a romantic date, or even a business dinner. The service was impeccable, and the hospitality was top-notch. Our waitress was attentive and added to the overall experience. As expected for a high-end establishment, the prices reflect the quality, but you truly get what you pay for. The food was delicious and well-prepared, complementing the unbeatable atmosphere. We visited in the winter, so it was cold outside, but the restaurant does offer outdoor seating with breathtaking views of Baltimore for those willing to brave the chill. If you haven’t had a chance to dine here, I highly recommend visiting at least once. It’s a memorable experience that’s worth the splurge for the exceptional quality all around.
